The GAME System:
A new, unconventional basketball camp

Basketball has been a huge part of my life for over 41 years.
From the age of 11 in 1984 when I was introduced to it from my head of PE at Canon Slade school in Bolton who also happened to the be the England U17 coach, my life changed for the better.
At least twice a week, I'd step onto the court and transform into a hungry, eager, competitive player, where my creativity flourished.
I experienced winning when in the 5th year we won the national school championship in 1989.
In 1989 I was cut from the England U17 squad, a decision that drove me to work harder and in 1991 I was selected to represent England U19’s and started to play for the Bury Lobos (later named Wildcats). I was voted the England MVP at a tournament in Holland and in 1996 was voted a national league division 1 All Star, and was the second highest scorer on the team. (I've still got the DVD tucked away somewhere).
When the national league team folded in 1997 I had to move on but opportunities were few and far between so what did I do?
I continued to play local league basketball winning the premier league titles, so I launched a national league team that completed for 4 years in division 4 called the Bury Blue Devils.
I became a volunteer at the 2012 Olympics and was privileged to work the final against Spain and the USA with literally a front court seat.
I became an assistant coach at the Manchester Giants, a role I held for about 4 months. I left because of family commitments.
In 2011 I trained in NLP and emotional intelligence and started to help professional athletes and others overcome their mental challenges with huge success for them.
In 2019 I launched a new national league basketball team that went on to win the title and league.
I coached women, kids, men all with the same principles of “What can I do to get the best out of you” in a nurturing manner, lessons learned from Phil Jackson.
I and my friend Phil Matthews have just completed three, 3 hour basketball camps that were a huge success and we plan to deliver more.
I've incorporated all my expertise into my sessions and wow, does it feel good!
Our camp is unconventional, which is an important factor and include four elements:
Mindset
Mindset and shooting
S and C
Coached Scrimmage
No other camp in the UK delivers this concept so we consider ourselves the originators.
We are planning more camps and looking at ways to leverage our skills in different areas.
I'm sharing this video as it shows snippets of what we do and will use it to promote our camps so if you're interested in basketball, take a look.
Thanks for reading and please share with anyone who likes basketball.
